Hay cosas que uno entiende con la cabeza. Y otras que solo se entienden cuando las ves delante de ti.<\/p>\n

En Saint-Louis, Senegal, hay ni\u00f1os que caminan solos todo el d\u00eda con un cubo en la mano. Los ves entre coches, mercados y terrazas. Al principio no entiendes qui\u00e9nes son. Despu\u00e9s descubres que son ni\u00f1os talib\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

Los talib\u00e9s son menores entregados por sus familias a los marabouts, l\u00edderes religiosos encargados de ense\u00f1arles el Cor\u00e1n en las daaras, escuelas tradicionales isl\u00e1micas. Pero la realidad de muchos de estos ni\u00f1os acaba siendo muy distinta a la que sus familias imaginaron. Muchos viven hacinados, lejos de casa, y pasan gran parte del d\u00eda mendigando para entregar dinero a los marabouts.<\/p>\n

Muchos ni siquiera son senegaleses. Vienen de Guinea-Bissau, Casamance o Gambia. Son ni\u00f1os peque\u00f1os, lejos de sus familias y sin nadie que les proteja.<\/p>\n

Y entonces entiendes que esos cubos pesan mucho m\u00e1s de lo que parecen.<\/p>\n

He pasado una semana en Maison des Talib\u00e9s y ha sido una de las experiencias m\u00e1s humanas que he vivido. Porque all\u00ed, aunque sea por unas horas, esos ni\u00f1os dejan de ser invisibles.<\/p>\n

El centro les ofrece algo que deber\u00eda ser b\u00e1sico para cualquier infancia: una ducha, una comida caliente, atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica, clases de franc\u00e9s, juegos, descanso y un lugar seguro donde simplemente poder ser ni\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

Nada de esto ser\u00eda posible sin Mamadou, que coordina el proyecto sobre el terreno, ni sin Griselda (directora de proyectos de A-K en Espa\u00f1a y Senegal) y el apoyo de Fundaci\u00f3n Asha-Kiran, gracias a quienes el centro puede contar con m\u00e9dico, profesores y un equipo que sostiene diariamente este espacio de cuidado y dignidad.<\/p>\n

Hay algo que me impresion\u00f3 especialmente: nunca sent\u00ed Saint-Louis como un lugar peligroso. Ni siquiera caminando de noche por calles apenas iluminadas. Al contrario. Sent\u00ed constantemente la Teranga senegalesa, esa hospitalidad sincera que te abraza cuando te relacionas con las personas. Porque, aunque no compartas el mismo idioma, hay sonrisas y miradas que se entienden perfectamente.<\/p>\n

Quiz\u00e1 por eso esta realidad te toca a\u00fan m\u00e1s profundamente.<\/p>\n

Porque entiendes que estos ni\u00f1os no necesitan compasi\u00f3n. Necesitan protecci\u00f3n, oportunidades y lugares como Maison des Talib\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

Lugares donde alguien los mire como lo que son: ni\u00f1os.<\/p>\n
