This summer, make a difference with Asha-Kiran
At Asha-Kiran – Espacio de Acogida, we support asylum seekers and young migrants in vulnerable situations as they adapt to life in Spain. Our work focuses on language learning, building social networks, and helping individuals feel rooted in their new reality.
During the summer, many of the people we accompany find themselves more isolated than ever. While schools and training centers close, we remain open. That’s why we’re looking for committed, empathetic volunteers who are willing to offer their time and presence.
From our space in the heart of Málaga, we continue to provide Spanish classes, cultural activities, and spaces of connection where newly arrived individuals can find support, community, and opportunity.
How Can You Get Involved?
- Spanish classes (1.5 hours/week): You don’t need to be a teacher—just motivated. We’ll provide materials and guidance.
- Cultural and sports activities: Share what you enjoy and help others discover the city.
- Digital literacy (1.5 hours/week): Support with basic tools like email, job searches, and online appointments.
- Volunteer Companions: Meet weekly with an individual migrant to build mutual trust, warmth, and personal support.
- Relational support: Create respectful, empathetic connections that make a lasting difference.

Who We’re Looking For
People with empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity, available for at least 1.5 hours per week.
Basic Spanish is helpful, and knowledge of other languages (French, English, Ukrainian or Russian) is a plus.
