Teaching values to children
At Asha-Kiran, we believe it is essential to educate children and young people in values so that they can actively contribute to building a more just and equitable world. From this conviction, we work to ensure that education in values is not an abstract discourse, but a living and transformative experience.
For this reason, we offer schools, educators, and tutors the opportunity to promote social values through sponsorship, exchange, and interaction among children and young people from India, Senegal, and Spain, as well as through activities with a clear solidarity-focused purpose.
In this way, participating children and young people:
- Integrate solidarity as a practical value in their daily lives and cultivate a spirit of cooperation.
- Discover how their actions can have a real impact on the lives of others.
- Learn to respect and value other cultures through closeness and mutual understanding.
In addition, in Málaga—where we carry out projects accompanying young migrants—we offer workshops in which students from primary and secondary schools can meet and engage in direct dialogue with the young people we support. These spaces help dismantle prejudices, humanize migratory realities, and learn together how to build a more cohesive, aware society that is able to recognize the richness of diversity.
There are two ways to participate:
Sponsoring
A school, or even a group of children and teens from a given school can sponsor one of our Day Care Centers in India with a monthly contribution of their choice. Periodically, the sponsors will interact with the sponsored children through letters, e-mails, or online meetings. Students may also send us their sponsorship experiences in writing to post on our social networks.
Working together
Students can raise awareness in their own communities in one-off or periodic activities about the living circumstances and challenges faced by India's most vulnerable children. These activities can also be an important way to raise funds for Asha-Kiran's projects.
