Shining with a light of her own
About ten years ago, Sadhana arrived at one of our Day Centers as a young girl just starting first grade at a local school. The daughter of a family of migrant workers, she grew up alongside her five sisters and one brother in a context marked by economic instability and daily hardships.
Through hard work and perseverance, Sadhana managed to complete Middle School. However, her family circumstances led her to believe she could not continue her studies and that she should start working as a housemaid to help support her family.
It was then that the teachers at our Day Care Center encouraged her not to give up on her education and to envision a different future for herself. With their support and guidance, Sadhana decided to pursue her education and was able to pass her High School exams.
Later on, thanks to a training opportunity offered by Mahindra Organization, she was able to enroll in nursing school. She successfully completed her training and, shortly thereafter, began working at Life Care Hospital in Hadapsar neighborhood in Pune.
Today, Sadhana continues to grow professionally and personally, combining her work with new learning opportunities and practical experience.
Her journey reminds us of the importance of supporting, sustaining, and trusting in the potential of every child and youngster.
