Aniket Bambarse: A fulfilled «Promise»
From a financially trying childhood to a successful career - Aniket’s story reminds us of what can happen when personal effort is backed by the necessary support.
For many young people growing up in low-income families, continuing their education and entering a professional field means overcoming numerous obstacles. A lack of financial resources can limit their opportunities, even when they have the motivation, abilities, and determination needed to build a different future.
At Fundación Asha-Kiran, we believe that a young person’s talent and aspirations should not be limited by their family’s financial situation. That is why, through our Young Promises project in Pune, India, we support students who wish to continue their studies, offering them educational support, guidance, and encouragement to move toward their goals.
Aniket Bambarse’s story is an example of what this support can make possible.
Aniket grew up in a family that has faced significant financial hardships. He lives with his widowed mother and his younger sister. All her life, his mother has worked as a farm laborer and supplemented her income by doing tailoring work to support her children.
Despite these circumstances, Aniket never gave up on his goal of completing his education and achieving greater financial independence.
Through hard work and perseverance, he managed to complete his degree in Mechanical Engineering at JSPM College in Pune. During his time at university, he also decided to learn Japanese, thereby expanding his knowledge and career opportunities.
Throughout this period, Aniket received support from our Young Promises project, which helped him continue his studies and prepare to join the workforce.
Currently, Aniket works as a software developer at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading international technology services company in India. He has achieved financial independence and completed his participation in the Young Promises program.
His story fills us with joy, especially because behind this achievement lie years of dedication, personal decisions, and the efforts of a mother who, despite her limited resources, has worked to provide a better future for her children.
Aniket is a fulfilled «Promise», but also a reminder of how many young people need a chance to show what they are capable of.
