Arman’s Journey: When an Opportunity Changes Someone’s Life
Arman is 12 years old and is now one of the children who contributes most to the positive atmosphere at our Day Care Center. But when he first arrived, things were very different.
He was a restless boy, difficult to manage in the classroom. He interrupted and distracted his classmates and seemed unable to find his niche. Behind that behavior lay something we often see – energy without a channel, without guidance, without opportunities.
Instead of rejecting him, we decided to support him.
Little by little, Arman began to take an interest in the Center’s activities. He found a place in the Bal Sabha (Children’s Assembly), where he could speak his mind, and in the Values Education sessions, where he began to explore new ways of interacting with others.
But the real change came when we took it a step further: we trusted him.
Arman was invited to join the Bal Samiti (Children’s Committee), a space where children take on responsibilities and develop leadership skills. Here, his energy stopped being a problem and became a strength.
At present, Arman has gone from being a child who disrupted the class to someone who cares for, supports, and guides others. He participates actively, asks questions, gets involved, and helps his classmates get more out of their lessons.
It’s not just his behavior, but the way he sees himself that has changed.
Stories like Arman’s remind us that no child is “difficult” when given the right opportunities. With proper guidance, trust, and a safe environment, the energy that once caused conflict can be transformed into leadership, commitment, and growth.
