At Asha-Kiran, we continue to move forward and adapt to new times without losing sight of our fundamental mission and vision. In this message, we wish to share the latest news about our journey. Although we are embarking on new endeavors, our essence remains intact: to continue being a committed actor caring for vulnerable children and creating a home for those who need it most.
Our endeavors revolve around the Day Care Centers for Migrant Children in Pune, India. This way of working responds to the needs of a population that moves constantly from place to place, nomadic families who are confronted with great difficulties accessing basic education, health and protection services. Therefore, one of our greatest challenges is to offer the children a safe, stable, and loving space where they will grow in an atmosphere of trust as we stay close to them during their formal schooling process.
We not only provide basic care at the Centers, but also focus on the children’s emotional well-being by safeguarding their rights, watching over their health and nutrition, as well as furthering social integration through play and ethics education.
However, our beneficiaries’ propensity to migrate often entails the difficulty of securing funding, both public and private, as their frequent displacements makes it hard to access traditional sources of support. Despite this challenge, we continue to rely on the generosity and commitment of our partners, who make the continuity of our work possible. We wish to expand our support network, inviting more of you to join our cause and multiply the impact of your action. We invite you to be ambassadors of our mission, to project your generosity and to open new doors for Asha-Kiran.
We are also taking important steps to expand our work to young immigrants in Malaga, Spain, and to strengthen our volunteer team with people who are committed to our mission. So, we are getting ready to continue growing and offering a hopeful future to those who need it most, without losing sight of our values and our vision.
