Training session on nutrition for families who work at construction sites

A total of 83 parents attended the session at our Day Care Centers on early childhood care, education, and diet. The aim was to raise awareness about the importance of nutrition for the growth and development of younger children. The topic was discussed in depth, emphasizing the significance of a balanced diet and explaining what a nutritious diet is, which essential nutrients that are obtained from different foods, and how they benefit the body.

We highlighted how critical proper nutrition is for children in their formative years. For example, for the first few months after birth, it is best for a baby to be exclusively breastfed and, onwards, other foods can be progressively introduced. The reason for this transition was elaborated on, underscoring the importance of continued breastfeeding.

The parents were further informed about the importance of diversifying their children's diets as it is not possible to get all the essential nutrients from a single or a few food items. A variety of recipes were shared -such as sprouting pulses to make masala rice- and were presented as simple, nutritious, and easy-to-make options.

By providing parents with knowledge and practical tips, they will be better informed to make decisions about their children's nutrition and ensure they grow up healthy and strong. We also foster a collaborative environment where parents can share ideas and experiences in this regard.
